Payment Extensions to Settle Tax Debt

April 28th, 2011

Plagued by the IRS? In desperate need to settle tax debt? One way to effectively resolve tax debt is to request for a payment extension. If you need more time to gather your resources and pay your tax debt in full, you can easily obtain a 45-day extension by sending a request to the IRS.

45 days is the longest period you can ask for extensions. Note that you can always ask for another 45 days after the previous one if you require more time to pool your funds together or you received another notice from the IRS regarding your tax problems. However, note that will are likely to incur penalty charges and interest charges if you ask for a second extension to settle tax debt.
